Foto Day 02 - Poás Volcano, Arenal Volcano, Hot Springs
Following a delicious breakfast, meet your private guide and start your first adventure: Early morning offers the best chance for a clear, cloudless view of the 14,000-acre nature reserve of Poás Volcano. So we’re off to an early start, to one of the most spectacular volcanoes of Costa Rica: With a diameter of 1.5 km, Poás Volcano is considered to be the world’s second biggest geyser. The crater shows almost permanent activity, with sulfuric fumes, active fumaroles, and temperatures between 104° F and 158° F. with ever-changing colors (mostly turquoise, blue or yellow), at the bottom of the 300 meters deep crater, the views are breathtaking!

Foto Continuing the drive you’ll see Catarata La Paz, Costa Rica's most impressive waterfall, cascading down the east slope of Poás Volcano, before continuing to La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano, to check in at your hotel.

In the afternoon, there is time to watch the sunset over Lake Arenal, or take a short hike on the Silencio Trail to a lookout point with magnificent views of Arenal volcano. We conclude the day at the Hot Springs of Baldi, to relax in a warm soothing bath of waterfalls and natural pools against the backdrop of fresh nighttime air and a starry sky. Keep a lookout in case that sky explodes with hot showers of red, yellow and orange, the sparkling lava flows of Arenal Volcano. Enjoy dinner and head back to your hotel at your leisure; Lodging at Arenal Springs Resort

FotoDay 03 – Arenal – Manuel Antonio
Following a delicious breakfast, ride around Arenal Lake to Cañas, then south on the Interamerican Highway along the coastline towards the town of Jacó. We’ll stop at the bridge over Rio Tarcoles, a great place for spotting large crocodiles, basking on the banks of the river. Continue the drive further south to Manuel Antonio for an afternoon check-in at your hotel
Lodging at Costa Verde

Foto Day 04 - Manuel Antonio National Park
Are you ready for capuchin monkeys, sloth, iguanas, anteaters, and multiple species of birds, all within easy walking distance into the rainforest?

A hike of about 1.5 hours on the park’s trails will get you this and more, including fantastic beaches within the park, where you are free to soak up some sun or bathe in the refreshing Pacific Ocean

Foto Day 05 – Manuel Antonio – Drake Bay
Today, your private guide will take you to Quepos airstrip. While your guide will say good-bye and return to San Jose, you will continue on a short, scenic flight to Palmar Sur.

The lodge’s representative will collect you at Palmar Sur Airstrip for a short transfer to Sierpe, from where you start the voyage by motorboat to Marenco Lodge (aprox. 2 hours), along the northern coast of the Osa Peninsula - where with any luck you’ll spot whales or schools of playful dolphins!

Foto Your overnight accommodations have been readied for your arrival at the lodge located on the world-renowned Drake Bay, so settle in or enjoy an afternoon of exploring the rainforest trails of Marenco’s private nature reserve which borders Corcovado National Park (optional)
Lodging at Marenco Beach & Rainforest Lodge.

Foto Day 06 – Drake Bay/Corcovado National Park
Today you will enjoy a hiking tour through Corcovado National Park, often called “the most biologically intense place on earth,” comprising thirteen major ecosystems
Your local naturalist expert will guide you through this wonderland of giant trees, hidden waterfalls, bright-red heliconia, whirling humming birds and clamoring monkeys.

Foto From an amazing variety of species, some very rare, you may even be lucky enough to see two of Costa Rica’s biggest cats, the Ocelot and the Jaguar, or the largest terrestrial mammal of Central America; Baird's tapir.

By noon, the tour returns to the beach to enjoy the shade of a mango tree while watching the surf. After lunch time, a short walk; the San Pedrillo river (time to get our feet wet) brings you to a pristine rain forest waterfall. As always keep your eyes peeled for beautiful birds and secretive wildlife. Kingfishers and Jesus Christ lizards are residents of this river. In late afternoon, we return to the lodge; Lodging at Marenco Beach & Rainforest Lodge

FotoDay 07 – Homeward Bound
