Hotels in Jaco Beach
On the north end of Jaco Beach, hotels include a Best Western, the Copacabana and several affiliated with major chains.
On the south end, a good choice for families as well as couples and singles is the Mar Paraiso.
You won't find as many bars and restaurants on the south end, though the multitude of options farther north are only minutes away by car or taxi.
Other hotels we recommend in Jaco are Hotel Roblemar (15 rooms), Balcon del Mar 28 rooms, 2 apartments) and for those who prefer a larger hotel, Jaco Fiesta (80 rooms). All places mentioned here are air conditioned and have hot water and private baths.
To the north and south of town, several smaller hotels and resorts are situated in Playa Hermosa and Playa Herradura (home of Marriott's Los Suenos). These are the way to go if seeking seclusion and privacy.
In Hermosa, we suggest the Vista Hermosa (14 rooms) and Casa Pura Vida (three apartments). Surfers will appreciate the location of Las Olas (8 rooms) and Out Back (5 rooms).
Rates in Jaco range from $60-$150; in Hermosa, from $40-$60.
Herradura is pricier, but many places slash their rates by 50% from April through early December.
Except during the rainiest part of the year (August through October), reservations are recommended - especially if planning to vacation here over the weekend or during Christmas and Easter holidays. Many Costa Ricans travel to Jaco during these times, due to its proximity to San Jose.
