A villa or resort, a B&B or cabina,all-inclusive, a budget or top drawer hotel with a king size bed -- you may choose from a wide range of lodging choices

Guanacaste Costa Rica Hotels

From any of the scores of hotels in Guanacaste, you can go deep sea fishing for sailfish, marlin and other billfish. PADI scuba diving facilities are available, and there are rainforest canopy tours, rafting, golf courses, fine food, and even real estate opportunities for those who fall in love with this place.

The Gold Coast: Flamingo, Tamarindo, Papagayo and Coco
From any of the scores of hotels in Guanacaste, you can go offshore fishing. PADI scuba diving facilities are available, and they're convenient to several national parks and an abundance of eco tours.

This area, whose most popular region is the north Pacific coast called the "Gold Coast," enjoys drier, less humid weather than the mid-Pacific region. Flamingo is the town that put this province on the map, but Tamarindo, Playa Coco, Ocotal, and others are equally inviting.

The variety of places to stay in this province is staggering. Guancaste is home to the majority of Costa Rica's all-inclusive hotels.

Many of these are found along the languid shores of the Gulf of Payagayo, where Four Seasons opened one of the country's biggest resorts last year.

The languid setting of a hotel here gives you a perfect view of the gold and red sunset from many hotels and restaurants, especially those perched on the cliffs facing the National Park
If you are seeking privacy and seclusion but want to be near all the local attractions, this area is highly recommended. Should you ever decide to leap out of the pool, the pub or restaurant, or your villa or room, you will find a brave new world of new things to do here.

While some lodging is found in the downtown area, only five minutes away from by cab, none of the accommodations there can match those in the more sophisticated resorts up on the hill.

When you feel like drinking cold beer or eating a hot meal, you won't have to look far. There will be a thatched roof restaurant or outdoor cafe with an amazing assortment of food on the menu. Some places have live music and dancing

There is rarely a cover charge.

If you want to try the local steak, grab a slab of the country's top cut of beef -- lomito. (Just be sure to order it well done.) There is always seafood on the table. Dorado, wahoo, snook and other fish are recommended.
