Beach Hotels in Costa Rica

Costa Rica beach hotels and resorts line the Pacific and Caribbean coasts. Fit for a king is how some visitors have described the accommodations, especially those with king or queen beds and all-inclusive packages.

Whether you stay in Costa Rican resorts or hotels on the beach in Manuel Antonio or Flamingo, Jaco or Tamarindo, you will find a lovely oceanview hotel. Beaches here range from glistening white to carmel brown to jet black.

With lively nightlife and daytime fiestas, the party scene sometimes takes off before the sun goes down in some of these towns. Jaco and Manuel Antonio beach hotels are best known for after dark diversion, but the true Epicenter of Fun in Costa Rica, the real party town, is Playas del Coco, north of Flamingo on the Guanacaste coast

Recommended Beach Hotels

Some of the beachfront hotels that we recommend are Best Western in Tamarindo and Best Western Jaco Beach, both with more rooms and more spacious grounds than most of the others, which average 20 rooms here and in most parts of Costa Rica. (Most of the lodging on the Atlantic coast consists of small places with 10 or fewer rooms.) The Jaco Fiesta, with 80 rooms, is another of the big ones.

Manuel Antonio has very few hotels or resorts directly on the shore, but the views from the cliff side resorts and restaurants more than compensate for the fact that it will take ten minutes or so to plant your feet in the sand. Makanda is among the best choices, however, as it is practically on the water. Hotel Parador is another great place, but is not on the water.
