In 1999, Captain Jesse Baletti made Costa Rica sportfishing news when he hooked the biggest blue marlin of the year -- a 1,200 pound monster that fought for six and a half hours on 50-pound test. Hooked at 33 miles offshore, this monster marlin was released 12 miles from the Quepos dock.
